Back Pain Remedies

Have you be struggling with back pain? Whether it was a sudden onset or you’ve been plagued with it for years, rest assured there are back pain remedies to help get things back in line.

First, visit your family doctor for an x-ray. If there are no abnormalities found, consider going to a chiropractor next before embarking on a medicinal path to correct your pain. Pain killers won’t treat the problem, only the symptoms.

Chiropractor:
Take your x-ray to your chiropractor and ask him to examine you. Some will do electric therapy on the area that gives you the most trouble. This will last for about ten minutes and works by stimulating the blood flow to the problem area for quicker healing. After that, the chiropractor will then adjust your spine so that everything is in the correct alignment.

You may be required to visit two or three times a week for awhile until your body is used to be in the right place. You should feel better with each adjustment. Also, be sure to drink plenty of water and put ice on the painful area for a little while each evening.

Exercises:
Not only will the chiropractor adjust your spine, you’ll also be sent home with several exercises. These exercises are fairly simple. Lay on your back and put a fist underneath your lumbar area. Press down with your back without raising your legs to “flatten” your fists. Once you get the motion down, remove your fists and press against the floor.

Another simple exercise is lay on the floor with your knees bent and lift your hips for a count of ten. This serves to strengthen the muscles in your lower back so that it is harder to injure the area.

When all else fails:
If, after multiple visits to the chiropractor, there is still no relief, pay a second visit to your family doctor. Tell him about the treatment you’ve received thus far and ask if an MRI is in order. Depending on the level of pain your are experiencing, you might want to consider pain medication at this point.

Also, if you’re suffering lower back pain, ask for your kidney’s to be checked as the pain could be a sign of something else other than a pulled muscle.

All back pain should be taken seriously. Don’t wait to seek medical help. See a doctor today.
